Why Do I Keep Repeating the Same Emotional Patterns?

When emotional or physical patterns keep repeating, it’s often not because something is wrong, but because something deeper hasn’t yet been understood. In this article, Lilly explores how unresolved emotional memory — sometimes from this life, sometimes mirrored through past-life experiences — can show up in the body until it is consciously recognised and integrated.
I remember a client who initially came to see me to lose weight. Like many people, that was the entry point, but very quickly it became clear that weight was only part of the story.
During the session, the person revisited several past lives, and what struck me was how different the bodies and life conditions were from one life to another. In some lives, there was hunger, scarcity, a constant worry about food and survival. In others, it was the complete opposite, a life of abundance, comfort, plenty of food, a kind of opulence where food was always available and deeply enjoyed.
It felt as if life was showing both ends of the spectrum.
And that’s something I’ve seen many times. When we repeat emotional patterns, whether it’s around food, relationships, money, or the body, it’s often because there is something we haven’t fully realised or integrated at a conscious level. So the pattern repeats, sometimes in this life, sometimes mirrored in another life, sometimes moving from one extreme to the other, as if balance is trying to be found.
In this case, food wasn’t just about eating or not eating. Even though this person didn’t eat excessively, their body was holding weight. And it felt less like a physical problem and more like a protection mechanism, almost as if part of them wasn’t fully at peace yet. From a deeper perspective, the body can sometimes hold onto weight not because of what is happening now, but because of an unresolved emotional memory, a fear of lack, or the imprint of survival from another time.

When those experiences were brought back into consciousness, something shifted. There was a sense of forgiveness, acceptance, and understanding. And with that came a visible lightness, not just emotionally, but energetically. I don’t know what happened for this person long-term, but what I could feel clearly at the end of the session was a deep sense of reassurance, as if something finally made sense beyond this lifetime, and with that came freedom.
I’ve witnessed similar things with people coming to see me for eczema, chronic pain, or very specific physical symptoms. Sometimes the root is clearly linked to something that happened in this life, but often there is also a resonance, a mirroring with another life, almost like the same story looping across time, unfinished.
When a loop isn’t completed, the body keeps speaking.
Pain, symptoms, discomfort are often not the problem themselves, but the language the body uses when we haven’t learned to listen yet. In our society, we tend to silence symptoms rather than understand them. We try to fix the body instead of asking what it’s trying to tell us.
Past life regression can be fascinating in that way. Not because it’s about believing in past lives, but because it allows access to emotional roots that sometimes sit beyond the rational mind. When those roots are recognised and integrated, the symptom often doesn’t need to stay anymore. It’s as if the body can finally say, “Okay, you’ve seen me, you’ve understood, my job is done.”
Very often, what shows up in a regression mirrors something in this life. The work is not about escaping the present, but about understanding it from a wider perspective. And for some people, that wider perspective is exactly what brings peace, acceptance, and healing.
If this resonates with you, and you feel that certain emotional patterns, physical symptoms, or inner struggles keep repeating without a clear explanation, exploring a BQH session can be one way of gently looking at the roots. Sessions can be done online or in person, with online being the most accessible option for many people.
Sometimes, understanding is what allows the body and the mind to finally let go.
Feeling stuck in a repeating pattern?

If you notice the same emotional responses, physical symptoms, or inner struggles showing up again and again even when you’ve “worked on them” it may be a sign that something deeper is asking to be acknowledged.
I offer holistic hypnotherapy and BQH (Beyond Quantum Healing) past life regression sessions for people who feel ready to explore the roots of long-standing patterns in a safe, grounded, and supportive way.
These sessions are not about reliving trauma or forcing change. They’re guided, gentle, and led by your own inner awareness, allowing insight, understanding, and integration to unfold naturally.
BQH sessions are available online or in person, with online sessions being the most accessible option for many people.
If you feel curious, or you’re unsure whether this type of work is right for you, you’re welcome to get in touch to ask questions before booking.
Sometimes, clarity is what allows the body and the mind to finally let go.
