What Should I Expect During My First Hypnotherapy Session?

If you've never done anything like this before, don't worry—it's completely natural to feel curious about what to expect! The process is actually quite gentle and straightforward.


Before you even come for your session, we'll have a chat—either over the phone or during a 30-minute free assessment. This is where I get to understand your goals and what you're hoping to achieve. I'll ask you some questions to really get a clear picture of what you want to work on, so when you arrive, I'm fully prepared to tailor the session specifically for you.


When you come in, we'll have a brief conversation where I make sure I understand your goals completely, and I'll explain how hypnotherapy works and how I approach sessions. Every session is different depending on the person and what they want to achieve, so I'll walk you through exactly how we'll adapt the process for your unique situation. This helps put first-timers at ease because you'll know exactly what's happening.

Once we're ready to begin, you'll get comfortable—you can choose to sit in a reclining chair or lie down on the massage table, whatever feels best for you. From there, you really don't have to do anything except allow yourself to relax. This is key: all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, so the most important thing is simply to trust the process and let whatever I suggest happen naturally.


You'll find yourself feeling wonderfully relaxed and comfortable, almost like you're somewhere else entirely, yet you'll still feel aware of what's happening. It's this incredible, peaceful place that's hard to describe until you experience it yourself. Many first-timers are surprised by how natural and comfortable it feels.
